Since 2019 in Duncan

Our story

Faith in good food, and in the people we share it with.

What Aastha means

Aastha means faith, and devotional speaks to spirituality. We chose the name because cooking, for us, has always been an act of devotion: something you do with care, patience and a full heart, for the people you love.

Since 2019, our Duncan kitchen has served authentic Indian cooking the way it is meant to be shared: generous platters in the middle of the table, warm naan passed from hand to hand, and nobody leaving hungry.

The kitchen and the food

Our sauces are built from scratch every day: onions cooked slowly until sweet, fresh ginger and garlic, and whole spices toasted and ground in-house. Breads and tandoori dishes come straight from our tandoor, a traditional clay oven that gives naan its soft, blistered crust and meats their smoky char.

New to Indian food? Try paneer (a fresh Indian cottage cheese) in a creamy curry, a basket of garlic naan (soft flatbread from the tandoor) and a cool mango lassi (a chilled yogurt drink). You choose the heat: Mild, Medium, Hot or Indian Hot.

A table for everyone

Half our menu is vegetarian, and many dishes can be made vegan or are naturally gluten-free. Look for the green dot and the GF badge on the menu, or just ask us. Kids have their own specials, and grandparents get the same welcome they would in our own home.

Whether it is a quiet weeknight dinner, a celebration with the whole family or lunch for the office, we would be honoured to cook for you.
